Significant two-story adobe in California. Built 1847 by Don Raymundo Olivas.

Located a little south of Ventura, California, east of the harbor.

Designated State Historical Landmark # 115 in 1974. Placed on National Register of Historic Places 1979.

Note the doors between the rooms. These were added later. Originally, it was required to walk outside to the porch to go from one room to another.

With so many children, there was always a small child in the house. It only made sense to have a swing in the kitchen where the child could be watched while prepairing meals.
