The Winterhaven Depot sits at the base of the hill topped by the former Fort Yuma, now Saint Thomas Indian Mission. The railroad track is still in use and crosses the Colorado River just a few hundred feet beyond. The depot is no longer in use and this once proud building is deteriorating. In a more populated and affluent community, public attention would rally to preserve it, but here, its future is in doubt.
