| While little more that a large mini-mall today, Gower Gulch has an important place in Hollywood history. At the corner of Sunset and Gower in Hollywood, its name derived from the cowboys who would hang out there hoping for parts as extras in the western movies so popular then. It was convenient to Columbia Studios across the street, Paramount a mile south, and countless other studios, most of which are long gone. Gone too are the western once so popular and now almost a rarity. |
